2009 Toyota Avensis TR Valvematic 1.8L Petrol · B358 AGC

A consistent track record of roadworthiness defines this vehicle, with eight consecutive MOT passes recorded since 2017 without a single failure or advisory. This stability is evidenced by the most recent clean pass on 19 March 2026, indicating that no structural or mechanical defects were identified during the inspection. The recorded mileage of 44,190 miles is low for a seventeen year old vehicle, averaging approximately 2,599 miles per year. This usage pattern suggests significantly lower wear on the drivetrain and internal engine components compared to typical examples of this age, although the low annual accumulation and a gap in testing between 2019 and 2022 indicate periods of limited use. Since the DVSA record is devoid of any flagged defects, there are no specific failures such as binding calipers, oil misting, or subframe corrosion to investigate. However, because the vehicle has experienced periods of inactivity, a physical inspection should verify that rubber seals and suspension bushes have not perished. A test drive should be used to listen for knocks over bumps and to ensure the Valvematic engine operates smoothly without hesitation. The absence of any recorded advisories regarding brake lines or suspension linkages suggests a clean mechanical history. The buyer should simply confirm that the current state of the brake discs and tyres is consistent with the low mileage recorded and that the vehicle exhibits no steering pull or pedal judder, ensuring the objective test results translate to a satisfactory driving experience.
