2017 Nissan Navara 2.3L Diesel · BC66 YVT

Five consecutive test passes without a single recorded advisory or failure demonstrate an exceptionally clean and unbroken history of baseline roadworthiness for this Nissan Navara, culminating in its latest successful MOT test on January 24, 2026. This blemish-free testing record spans the entirety of its tracked history from late 2021 through early 2026, indicating that the vehicle has consistently met statutory minimum standards at its annual inspections without immediate mechanical intervention required by examiners. Accumulating 160,909 miles over its nine-year lifespan yields an intensive average of roughly 17,879 miles per year, categorizing this vehicle as a high-mileage commercial workhorse rather than a lightly used commuter. This heavy operational pace means that the mechanical systems have been subjected to continuous commercial-grade usage, placing accelerated demands on the heavy-duty drivetrain, four-wheel-drive components, and chassis architecture. While the lack of historical test defects suggests these systems have held together structurally through successive annual examinations, high cumulative mileage inevitably translates to advanced mechanical fatigue across all foundational moving parts. Given the intense working mileage and the structural nature of large ladder-chassis pickups, a thorough physical inspection of the underbody is paramount before purchase. On a comprehensive test drive, pay close attention to the leaf springs, torsion bars, and suspension bushes by listening for metallic knocks, creaks, or excessive body roll over rough surfaces, which would indicate worn damping components or tired load-bearing joints. Furthermore, test the four-wheel-drive engagement selectors thoroughly on varied surfaces to ensure the transfer case and differential assemblies operate without binding, excessive transmission whine, or hesitation. Braking performance under this load profile also demands careful verification during the road test. Assess the brake pedal feel for any sponginess, judder, or uneven pulling to the left or right, as high-mileage commercial vehicles frequently experience accelerated wear on brake discs, callipers, and hydraulic lines under heavy towing or payload conditions. Finally, inspect the engine bay and chassis rails for any signs of historical fluid leaks, oil misting, or corrosion around the chassis crossmembers and steering linkages, ensuring that the absence of past MOT advisories translates into genuine structural and mechanical integrity beneath the surface.
