2008 Citroen Dispatch 1.6L Diesel · BG58 BCV

This Citroën Dispatch has maintained a clean MOT history with no recorded defects across all five tests, including the most recent pass on 2025-07-11. The sole failure in July 2025—just one day before passing—was unusual, as no defects were logged, suggesting either a minor administrative oversight or a temporary issue resolved without mechanical intervention. The consistent pass rates imply the vehicle has avoided major recurring faults, though the lack of advisories or defect notes means critical components like suspension bushes, coil springs, or binding calipers were not explicitly cleared. The absence of corrosion advisories on structural panels or subframes is also notable, though this cannot be confirmed without visual inspection. The mileage progression shows steady usage with no prolonged periods of inactivity or rapid acceleration. From 139,594 miles in June 2022 to 159,589 miles today, the vehicle has averaged roughly 9,000 miles annually, which is typical for its age. There are no gaps longer than a year between tests, and the mileage increments are consistent, suggesting regular driving rather than storage. The minor discrepancy between the 2025 failure and pass—just one mile difference—indicates the test may have been retaken promptly after an initial oversight rather than a mechanical issue. Given the lack of defect history, a buyer should prioritise inspecting high-wear items not covered by MOT standards, such as the suspension bushes (particularly rear), coil springs for fatigue, and brake calipers for binding or excessive wear. The absence of corrosion advisories does not rule out hidden rust in wheel arches or sills, so close examination of these areas is essential. Tyres, while not flagged, should be checked for uneven wear or low tread depth, as the vehicle’s age and mileage make them a likely candidate for replacement. Finally, the engine bay and underbody should be scrutinised for leaks or fluid contamination, as these are not routinely tested but can indicate long-term neglect.
