2014 Renault Captur 1.5L Diesel · BH12 BSH

The vehicle currently holds a valid MOT certificate issued on 15 July 2025, confirming its roadworthiness status. The maintenance trend appears stable and clean, as the most recent inspection resulted in a pass with no recorded defects or advisories. While the vehicle failed its initial test on the same day in 2025 and again in 2024, these failures lacked specific defect descriptions, suggesting that the issues were likely minor administrative oversights or immediate rectifications rather than systemic mechanical failures. At 64,855 miles over a 12-year lifespan, the vehicle averages approximately 5,405 miles per annum, which is significantly lower than the national average. The mileage accumulation has remained consistent, with no evidence of long periods of inactivity or erratic usage spikes. This low-mileage profile typically indicates light urban use, though such patterns can sometimes mask premature wear on specific components that require regular movement to remain supple. Prospective buyers should focus their physical inspection on the condition of the suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake components, as these parts often deteriorate due to age and infrequent use rather than high mileage. Check the brake discs for signs of surface corrosion or pitting, which can occur if the vehicle sits for extended periods. Inspect the exhaust system for signs of internal decay and verify the structural integrity of the subframe and sills, as these areas are prone to corrosion on Renault models of this age. Given the absence of recorded advisories in recent years, ensure that the vehicle has received independent servicing to supplement the MOT checks, as the test only assesses minimum safety standards at a single point in time.
