2013 Volkswagen Golf 2.0L Diesel · BJ13 AEB

The 2013 Volkswagen Golf demonstrates stable roadworthiness, with no defects recorded in its last four MOT tests, including the most recent 2026-01-20 inspection at 103,931 miles. All prior tests from 2022 to 2024 also passed without issues, indicating consistent maintenance and no emerging mechanical concerns. The vehicle’s compliance with safety standards remains unchallenged, and the absence of advisories or failures suggests the previous owner prioritized regular servicing. Mileage progression shows a steady annual average of ~7,995 miles, aligning with typical usage for a 13-year-old vehicle. The records reveal a 10-month gap between the 2024-03-06 test (80,306 miles) and 2025-01-20 test (80,344 miles), during which minimal mileage was accrued. This suggests possible infrequent use or delayed testing, though the subsequent 2025-01-20 test confirmed no deterioration. The lack of rapid mileage spikes reduces risk to consumables like tyres or brakes, but older components such as suspension bushes or exhaust systems may still require scrutiny. A buyer should prioritise an independent inspection of the suspension system, focusing on worn bushes or coil springs, which are common in vehicles of this age. Brake discs and calipers should also be checked for corrosion or uneven wear, as these can develop over time even without MOT failures. Structural integrity is likely intact, but a thorough underbody assessment for rust or corrosion is advisable, particularly in areas prone to road salt exposure. The MOT history reflects a well-maintained vehicle, but physical verification of these components is essential to confirm continued reliability.
