2012 Volkswagen Touran 1.6L Diesel · BK12 AEO

The vehicle currently presents a stable roadworthiness profile based on the available MOT history. The most recent test conducted on 25 June 2025 at 91,059 miles resulted in no defects, indicating that any previous issues have been addressed or have not recurred. While a failure was recorded in July 2024, the immediate pass just four miles later suggests the owner was proactive in rectifying the specific safety or emissions fault flagged by the DVSA tester. The mileage pattern is consistent with a vehicle used for light annual commuting, averaging approximately 6,500 miles per year. Between April 2022 and April 2023, the car covered 4,004 miles, followed by a more active interval of 6,176 miles between April 2023 and July 2024. This fluctuation in usage is typical for a family vehicle of this age, though the long periods of lower mileage can sometimes lead to degraded rubber components or seized brake calipers despite the low total odometer reading of 91k miles. A buyer should focus their physical inspection on the mechanical components most susceptible to age-related wear rather than high mileage. Although the record is clean of advisories, the 14-year-old chassis requires a close look at suspension bushes and coil springs for signs of fatigue or corrosion. Inspect the structural integrity of the sills and wheel arches, as these are common failure points for the Touran. Given the lack of recorded defects in recent years, the vehicle suggests a baseline level of care, but the buyer should still verify the condition of the brake discs and tyres to ensure no significant corrosion has developed between test intervals.
