2022 Volkswagen ID4 Life Electric · BV22 OGG

The latest MOT test conducted on 17 April 2025 resulted in a pass with no defects or advisories recorded. Given that this vehicle is a 2022 model, this represents its initial mandatory inspection, and the absence of any noted faults indicates a stable maintenance trend. The vehicle currently presents as mechanically sound from a regulatory standpoint, with no immediate evidence of neglect or systemic failure. The recorded mileage of 32,506 miles over approximately four years equates to an annual average of roughly 8,126 miles. This usage profile is considered typical for this class of vehicle and suggests a balanced duty cycle. There are no indications of excessive wear associated with high-mileage commuting, nor are there signs of the detrimental effects often seen in vehicles that have spent prolonged periods standing, such as seized components or perished seals. Despite the clean MOT history, a prospective buyer should perform a diligent physical inspection focusing on age-related degradation. Particular attention should be paid to the tyre sidewalls to check for perishing or fine cracking, as rubber compounds can degrade over time regardless of tread depth. It is also essential to examine the brake discs for surface corrosion or pitting. Because electric vehicles rely heavily on regenerative braking, the physical friction brakes are used less frequently, which can lead to binding calipers or oxidized discs that may cause shuddering under heavy braking. Further inspection should cover the health of the 12V auxiliary battery, as these are prone to failure in electric vehicles and can lead to unexpected starting issues. Verify the service history to ensure that time-based maintenance, such as brake fluid replacement and cabin filter changes, has been performed according to the manufacturer's schedule. Finally, during a test drive, listen for any knocks or clunks from the suspension bushes and coil springs, and ensure the steering remains precise and free from vibration, confirming the vehicle's continued roadworthiness.
