2020 Audi E-Tron Electric · BW69 PYA

A clean and consistent DVSA test record positions this 2020 Audi E-Tron as a strong candidate from a roadworthiness perspective, with three consecutive passes at the 2023, 2024, and 2025 tests and not a single advisory or failure recorded across those examinations. The absence of any flagged items relating to the suspension, braking system, tyres, or structure over a three-year testing window indicates that the vehicle has not yet developed the kind of wear-related deterioration commonly seen on EVs of this age, particularly around coil springs, brake discs, and underbody components. With its most recent pass recorded on 5 June 2025, the car enters the current MOT cycle without any outstanding concerns on the official record, which provides a solid baseline for further evaluation. The recorded mileage of 50,915 miles against an approximate six-year age equates to around 8,486 miles per annum, which sits comfortably within the typical usage bracket for a premium electric SUV. There are no significant gaps between testing intervals that would suggest prolonged periods off the road, and the mileage progression between tests appears steady and consistent rather than showing erratic jumps or unusual accumulation patterns. For an electric vehicle, this kind of moderate annual usage is mechanically favourable, as it tends to avoid the two extremes that cause issues: excessive high-mileage wear on drivetrain and suspension components, or very low usage that allows brake discs to corrode, tyres to flat-spot, and certain lubricants and seals to degrade through lack of regular operation. The continuous testing history suggests the car has remained in active service throughout its life so far. Although the MOT record itself is clean, a prospective buyer should still carry out a thorough physical inspection and test drive to satisfy themselves on the items most commonly found on a used Audi E-Tron of this age and mileage. Given the vehicle's weight and the fact that regenerative braking reduces conventional brake pad wear, the discs should be inspected for any signs of corrosion around the outer edges or lipping, as seized or binding calipers can still develop through infrequent manual brake use. On the test drive, listen for any clonking or knocking from the front suspension, particularly over speed humps and uneven surfaces, as the multi-link front arrangement can develop wear in the lower control arm bushes. The steering should feel precise and free from vibration, and any pulling to one side under braking would warrant further investigation into the brake calliper operation. The air suspension system fitted to the E-Tron is a critical area to examine closely, as it is a known cost item on this model; listen for the compressor operating excessively on startup or after the vehicle has been parked, and check that the car settles to a level stance on all four corners without one corner sitting noticeably lower than the others. The tyres should be checked for even wear across the axles, as inconsistent wear patterns can indicate alignment issues or suspension geometry concerns. High-voltage system integrity is not part of the standard MOT test, so it is worth confirming with a dealer or specialist that the battery state of health is within an acceptable range and that the vehicle has received its recommended software updates. Finally, inspect the underside and wheel arch liners for any signs of damage from kerbing, and ensure all driver-assist systems and warning lights function correctly during the ignition-on sequence.
