2011 Land Rover Freelander 2.2L Diesel · BX11 ACJ

The vehicle currently fails the roadworthiness test. The most recent examination on 10 April 2026 at 158,077 miles returned a fail with no defects recorded, an administrative anomaly that demands clarification before any purchase. Prior to this, the maintenance trend appeared stable, with four consecutive passes from January 2022 through January 2025 showing no advisories or defects logged by testers. Annual mileage sits close to the expected average for a 2011 Freelander, around 10,500 miles per year. The records show 115,631 miles in January 2022, rising to 123,379 by January 2023, 126,235 in January 2024, and 133,637 in January 2025. That is modest yearly use. A sharp jump to 158,077 miles by April 2026 suggests roughly 24,400 miles accrued in just over fourteen months, well above the prior rate. The clean test history with zero advisories across those years implies previous owners kept the car to basic pass standard, though the absence of flagged wear on suspension bushes, brake discs, or corrosion offers no evidence of proactive mechanical care. A buyer must verify the reason for the April 2026 failure, since DVSA systems list no defect yet mark the test as failed. Inspect the vehicle in person for structural integrity issues, hidden chassis corrosion, and drivetrain condition given the sudden high-mileage period. Check all four corners for suspension wear, binding calipers, and exhaust emissions against the lack of historical advisories. The clean record provides no warning of recurring faults, but the unexplained fail and recent mileage spike mean a full independent inspection is essential before commitment.
