1986 Honda CBX250 0.2L Petrol · C457 FKG

This 1986 Honda CBX250 presents in a remarkably sound mechanical condition with a completely clean maintenance trend, confirmed by a pass on 2025-01-17 with zero defects recorded. The test history demonstrates an unbroken succession of first-time passes across all recent examinations, indicating that previous custodians maintained the machine to a high standard without letting minor mechanical neglect accumulate into serious faults. The recorded mileage stands at 27,057 miles, which equates to an exceptionally low annual average of approximately 676 miles over its forty-year lifespan. This minimal use pattern is further highlighted by the sparse test data and extended periods of inactivity between test dates. Such low mileage often points to long periods spent sitting idle in storage rather than regular, consistent operation. Extended periods of non-use on vintage motorcycles typically introduce specific risks regarding fuel system varnish, internal engine condensation, and the hardening of rubber components such as fork seals and brake lines. A physical inspection should prioritize checking the fuel tank for internal corrosion, inspecting the hydraulic brake lines for perishing, and verifying that the suspension dampers operate smoothly without weeping oil past the seals. Given the age of the machine and its light utilization, prospective buyers must also examine the tyre date codes for rubber degradation regardless of remaining tread depth, alongside a thorough check of the electrical charging circuit and wiring harness for age-related brittleness. The absence of historical advisories is encouraging, but a close manual inspection of the frame and exhaust system for surface rust remains essential to preserve the structural integrity of this classic Japanese motorcycle.
