1986 Kawasaki ZL600A1 0.6L Petrol · C727 HMC

The 1986 Kawasaki ZL600A1 demonstrates a stable roadworthiness trend, culminating in a clean pass on April 15, 2025 at 37,144 miles with zero defects recorded. This follows an equally fault-free test on March 19, 2024, indicating that the motorcycle has maintained a reliable mechanical standard through its two most recent annual examinations. The low aggregate mileage of 37,144 miles across roughly four decades averages out to approximately 929 miles per year, which reflects very light usage for a classic machine of this era. The available MOT data is concise and completely free of historical advisories or failures, though this sparse record suggests periods of limited use or storage rather than sustained, heavy-duty operation. Given the age of the motorcycle and the likelihood of intermittent use, a physical inspection must focus heavily on components vulnerable to aging and standing. You should carefully examine the braking system for seized or binding calipers, check the rubber suspension seals and fork stanchions for pitting or weeping fluid, and inspect the fuel system and carburettor internals for varnish buildup. Furthermore, check the structural integrity of the frame and exhaust system for hidden corrosion, and verify the age and condition of the tyres regardless of their remaining tread depth.
