1996 Harley Davidson 883 0.9L Petrol · C947 LBW

The Harley Davidson 883 presents as roadworthy following its most recent MOT test on 2 December 2025 at 10,748 miles, where the tester recorded a pass with no defects. The maintenance trend shows a clean and stable status on the basis of this single available record, with no advisories or failures logged to indicate emerging mechanical concerns. The recorded mileage of 10,748 miles against a 1996 model year equates to an average of roughly 358 miles per year, confirming exceptionally light use for a machine now nearing thirty years of age. The DVSA history supplied contains only the December 2025 entry, so no prior test dates or mileage progression exist to reveal gaps, rapid accumulation, or recurring fault patterns. Such sparse data limits longitudinal judgement, though the low figure suggests prolonged standing periods rather than regular road exercise. A buyer should still inspect the 883 in person for age-related deterioration that a no-defect pass may not detail. Long intervals of inactivity commonly degrade suspension bushes, fork seals, and brake calipers through fluid stagnation and rubber perishing. Corrosion on the frame and exhaust system warrants close examination given the vehicle's three-decade lifespan. Tyres and control cables demand physical checks for cracking or flat spotting from storage. The absence of advisories at the last test does not exempt the buyer from verifying structural integrity and drivetrain condition before purchase.
