2013 Ford Fiesta 1.6L Petrol · CA62 AEN

The 2013 Ford Fiesta exhibits a stable roadworthiness trend based on its most recent MOT record, which showed a pass on 2023-07-25 at 66,285 miles with no defects. The prior three tests between 2021-07-08 and 2023-01-11 also passed without issues, indicating consistent maintenance. However, the absence of a test since 2023-07-25 raises concerns, as the vehicle is now over three years past its last inspection. This gap could mask emerging faults, particularly in components like suspension bushes, brake discs, or exhaust emissions, which degrade over time regardless of mileage. The vehicle’s mileage of 66,285 miles over 13 years equates to approximately 5,099 miles annually, significantly below the UK average for its age. This low usage suggests infrequent operation or periods of inactivity, which may lead to dry rot in rubber components or seized moving parts. Notably, the 2022-02-24 test at 55,511 miles failed without recorded defects, followed by a rapid mileage jump to 61,429 miles by 2023-01-11. Such a sharp increase could indicate sudden heavy use or potential odometer tampering, warranting scrutiny of wear on tyres, brakes, and drivetrain components. A buyer should prioritise inspecting the suspension system for worn bushes or coil springs, as low mileage can mask hidden fatigue. The absence of brake-related defects in recent tests does not preclude binding calipers or uneven disc wear, which may require a test drive. Structural integrity should also be verified, as corrosion risks rise with age. While the MOT history shows no major issues, the 2022 failure and extended gap since the last test necessitate a thorough pre-purchase inspection to confirm ongoing reliability.
