2008 Yamaha YZFR1 1.0L Petrol · CE08 XBZ

The vehicle maintains a stable roadworthiness status, evidenced by a consistent history of passes. The most recent test on 30 May 2026 at 11,776 miles passed with no defects recorded, continuing a multi-year streak of clean inspections. Since the initial failure in 2011, the motorcycle has avoided any advisories or failures, suggesting a consistent level of mechanical care and presentation over its lifespan. The mileage pattern is exceptionally low for an 18-year-old machine, averaging approximately 654 miles per year. Data shows significant periods of stationary use; for instance, the bike covered only 46 miles between May 2022 and June 2023, and just 12 miles between 2023 and 2024. While this low mileage indicates minimal mechanical wear on the drivetrain and engine, the long intervals between uses risk age-related degradation of rubber-based components and fluid chemistry that mileage alone does not capture. A buyer must prioritize a physical inspection of components susceptible to long-term storage. Despite the clean MOT record, the age of the vehicle suggests that rubber seals, fuel lines, and fork seals should be checked for cracking or perishability. The historical presence of tyre wear issues in 2014 and 2016 indicates that while the owner addressed consumables when necessary, the current set of tyres should be evaluated for flat spotting or dry rot due to the low use. Additionally, inspect for corrosion on the brake discs and chain links, as low-mileage vehicles often suffer from surface oxidation if left damp.
