2011 Mercedes-Benz C 2.1L Diesel · CJ55 MCJ

The vehicle currently maintains a roadworthy status, evidenced by a clean MOT pass in March 2026 at 146,710 miles where no defects were recorded. The maintenance trend shows significant improvement following a period of recurring mechanical issues between 2021 and 2024. While the car previously struggled with specific failures, the two most recent annual tests suggest the current owner has addressed outstanding faults and is maintaining a stable mechanical standard. The mileage pattern is consistent with a well-used vehicle of this age, averaging approximately 10,000 miles per year. There is a steady accumulation of mileage, with a notable jump from 125,194 miles in March 2025 to 146,710 miles just one year later in March 2026. This regular usage suggests the vehicle has not sat idle for long periods, which is generally beneficial for engine seals and rubber components, despite previous instances of perished tyres noted in older records. A prospective buyer should focus inspection on the braking and fuel systems due to historical failures. The March 2024 test flagged corroded front brake pipes obscured by grease, which often indicates an attempt to mask surface rust or minor leaks. Although the vehicle passed since, a physical inspection of the brake lines for further corrosion or weeping at the unions is essential. The ABS and stability control faults recorded in 2021 also warrant a functional check of the dashboard warning lights to ensure these electronic faults have not returned. The history also shows a recurring pattern of tyre degradation and cracking between 2020 and 2022, suggesting the rubber components are susceptible to age-related wear. Given the minor oil leak noted in 2020, the buyer should check the engine bay for any signs of active weeping that may have persisted since the last inspection. Beyond these areas, the structural integrity of the vehicle appears sound as no structural corrosion advisories have been issued in the decade-year history.
