2003 Ford Fiesta 1.2L Petrol · CK03 AUF

The vehicle currently maintains a roadworthy status, though the history reveals a pattern of immediate failures followed by passes. The most recent test on 9 August 2024 at 184,789 miles passed with no defects, following a failure just six days prior at nearly identical mileage. This trend repeated in August 2023, where the car failed on 3 August and passed the following day. These recurring last-minute failures suggest the previous owner only addressed specific mechanical or emissions-related adjustments when required to pass the annual test, rather than following a proactive preventative maintenance schedule. The mileage accumulation is consistent with a 23-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 8,000 miles per year. Between the August 2022 test at 173,389 miles and the August 2024 test at 184,789 miles, the car covered 11,400 miles. This indicates a steady, moderate usage pattern rather than long periods of neglect or heavy commercial use. The total figure of 184,789 miles places significant life- on the drivetrain, engine components, and suspension assembly. A buyer must conduct a thorough physical inspection of the structural integrity and chassis components, as these are common failure points for this era. Given the high mileage, check for corrosion on the sills, rear subframe, and mounting points. The suspension should be examined for perished rubber bushes and shock absorber leaks, which often reach the end of their life at this interval. Since the MOT records show no advisories, verifying the brake system for binding calipers or thin discs is essential to ensure the clean record reflects actual mechanical health rather than just a snapshot of basic compliance.
