2012 Audi A1 1.6L Diesel · CK54 CZK

A history of significant brake and tyre wear issues defined the vehicle's mechanical profile throughout 2023, though the most recent test on 10 January 2026 shows a period of clean results with no recorded defects. This follows a critical failure in October 2023 where the vehicle was flagged for dangerous brake pad thickness and a nearside front tyre falling below the legal tread depth limit. While the record shows a return to passing results without advisories in the 2024, 2025, and 2026 tests, the previous pattern of component depletion indicates that consumables have reached their limits in the past. The recorded mileage of 115,779 miles over a 14-year period equates to an average annual accumulation of approximately 8,270 miles. This usage pattern is consistent with typical long-term driving for a vehicle of this age, suggesting a steady rate of wear on mechanical components rather than the accelerated degradation seen in high-mileage vehicles or the potential stagnation issues associated with very low-mileage examples. This level of use typically implies that suspension bushes, drivetrain components, and braking systems will have undergone regular, moderate cycles of stress. Prospective buyers should pay close attention to the braking system and wheel integrity, given the specific advisories recorded in March 2023 regarding pitted or scored brake discs across all four corners and thinning front brake pads. During a test drive, it is essential to check for any pedal judder or vibration under braking, which can indicate disc irregularities, and to listen for any grinding noises that might suggest insufficient pad material. The previous advisory regarding a slightly distorted nearside front road wheel should also be investigated by checking for any steering pull or uneven tyre wear patterns that could indicate a lingering wheel balance or alignment issue. Suspension and chassis components also warrant a physical inspection, specifically addressing the earlier advisory concerning a corroded offside rear coil spring. While no recent failures have been noted, a thorough check of the coil springs for surface corrosion or fractures is advisable, along with a drive over uneven surfaces to listen for any metallic knocks or clunks that could signal worn suspension bushes or weakened spring tension. Ensuring the tyres currently fitted show even wear across the tread surface will help confirm that the previous issues with edge wear and legal limits have been fully rectified.
