2006 Smart (mcc) Forfour 1.3L Petrol · CT55 UYH

The vehicle currently holds a roadworthy status with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent MOT test on 07 February 2026 at 158,896 miles resulted in a pass with no defects recorded, following a failure just four miles prior. This pattern mirrors the February 2025 test, where the car failed at 153,921 miles but passed the following day. These consecutive passes suggest the previous owner addresses minor non-compliance issues or consumable failures immediately to maintain legal operation rather than allowing mechanical defects to accumulate. The mileage accumulation is consistent with a twenty-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 7,945 miles per year. Between the February 2024 and February 2025 tests, the car covered 4,978 miles, while it covered another 4,969 miles in the year leading up to the 2026 test. This steady, low-annual usage indicates regular use which is generally beneficial for seals and mechanical components, as it prevents the dry rot and corrosion often associated with long periods of standing on vehicles of this age. A buyer should conduct a thorough physical inspection of the structural integrity and suspension components, as the MOT record shows no history of recurring rust or mechanical failures. Given the age of the Smart ForFour, focus on corrosion in the rear sills and suspension mounting points where these models are prone to degradation. Since the recent failures showed no recorded defects, they were likely related to simple items like light bulbs, wiper blades, or tyre tread that were rectified quickly. Inspect the brake system for binding calipers and the condition of the suspension bushes to ensure the mechanical state matches the clean digital history.
