2012 Ford Kuga 2.0L Diesel · CT62 HGJ

The 2012 Ford Kuga demonstrates a stable and highly commendable maintenance trend, culminating in a clean pass on 4 February 2026 at 169,078 miles. The tester recorded zero defects on this most recent test, indicating the vehicle currently meets all required safety and environmental standards. A single failed test appears in the record on 25 October 2022 at 144,584 miles, yet notably, no specific mechanical defects were recorded for that failure, suggesting an administrative or procedural issue rather than a sudden mechanical breakdown. The subsequent pass the following day confirms the vehicle was swiftly returned to a roadworthy state, and the consistent clean passes since then point to diligent upkeep. Accumulating 169,078 miles over fourteen years equates to roughly 12,077 miles annually, a figure that sits above the national average and implies sustained regular use. The mileage progression reveals a distinct gap in testing between October 2022 and January 2024, during which the vehicle covered approximately 13,385 miles. Following this hiatus, the annual mileage dropped significantly; the Kuga traveled just 206 miles between the January 2024 and January 2025 tests, before covering 10,899 miles in the subsequent twelve months leading to the February 2026 test. This recent spike in usage suggests the vehicle has returned to active daily service after a period of very light use or potential standing time. Despite the absence of recorded mechanical advisories, the high annual mileage demands a rigorous physical inspection of typical wear components. A buyer should closely examine the condition of the suspension bushes and coil springs, as high-mileage Kugas frequently suffer from premature deterioration in these areas that might not always trigger an MOT failure until severe. Brake discs and pads require careful measurement, given the cumulative stress of nearly 170,000 miles. Furthermore, a thorough underside inspection is essential to rule out corrosion on the exhaust system and structural mounting points, ensuring the vehicle's long-term structural integrity remains intact despite its age and usage.
