2001 Mazda Bongo 2.0L Petrol · CW51 RXS

The vehicle currently holds a valid MOT certificate issued on 10 June 2025 at 78,832 miles with no recorded defects. This clean test result suggests a stable maintenance trend, particularly following the unusual sequence of tests conducted in April 2025. The rapid succession of a failure on 14 April 2025 followed by a pass just three days later indicates a swift rectification of a minor administrative or technical oversight, as no specific failures were logged. The absence of advisories across the last three years of testing points to a well-maintained vehicle that has avoided the common trend of recurring component degradation. The recorded mileage of 78,832 miles over a 25-year lifespan averages approximately 3,150 miles per year, which is exceptionally low for a Mazda Bongo. The data shows consistent annual usage, with the vehicle covering roughly 600 to 700 miles between June 2023 and June 2025. This steady, low-mileage pattern suggests the vehicle has not suffered from the accelerated wear associated with high-frequency commercial use, though the low annual totals warrant a check for signs of long-term storage, such as perished rubber seals or seized components from inactivity. Given the age of this platform, the lack of recorded advisories should not preclude a thorough physical inspection of the structural integrity. Mazda Bongos are prone to corrosion in the rear wheel arches, chassis rails, and sills, which may not always be captured in a surface-level MOT check. You should prioritize inspecting the underside for any evidence of recent welding or underseal application that might mask structural decay. While the drivetrain appears reliable based on the clean test history, verify the condition of the cooling system, as these engines are notoriously sensitive to overheating. Confirm that the cooling hoses and radiator show no signs of leakage or brittle degradation, as these items are critical for the longevity of the engine.
