2007 Hyundai Terracan 2.9L Diesel · D16 RWC

The Hyundai Terracan passed its most recent MOT on 23 October 2025 at 128,643 miles with no defects recorded, giving it a current roadworthy status. The maintenance trend appears stable on paper, though the record shows a recurring pattern of initial failures followed by rapid passes at near-identical mileages, which points to administrative or presentation issues rather than mechanical deterioration. Mileage has accumulated at a typical rate for a 19-year-old vehicle, rising from 118,948 miles at the October 2023 test to 123,820 miles in October 2024 and 128,643 miles by October 2025, an average of roughly 4,800 miles per year across that span. The DVSA entries are sparse and clean between passes, with no advisories logged on any test, so there is no recorded wear history for tyres, brakes, suspension bushes, or corrosion to assess. The two failures on 15 October 2025 at 128,639 miles and 21 October 2024 at 123,816 miles both list no defects, meaning the car was presented again two days later and cleared with no work noted. This suggests the earlier attempts may have failed on documentation, lighting, or minor non-mechanical grounds rather than structural faults, but a buyer should not rely on the empty defect fields as proof of condition. In person, the buyer should still inspect brake discs and calipers for binding or wear, check coil springs and suspension bushes for fatigue, and examine the chassis and sills for structural rust given the vehicle's age. The absence of advisories across three years does not exempt a 2007 Terracan from consumable and corrosion checks before purchase.
