1986 Ford Fiesta 1.1L Petrol · D473 CEH

The vehicle maintains a high standard of roadworthiness, evidenced by a consistent history of clean MOT passes. The most recent test conducted in July 2025 at 26,192 miles resulted in no defects or advisories. This trend indicates a stable maintenance profile over the last five years, suggesting the vehicle has been kept in a condition that avoids the common mechanical and structural failures typically seen in cars of this age. The mileage pattern is exceptionally low for a 1986 Ford Fiesta, averaging approximately 655 miles per year. Between July 2021 and July 2025, the car covered only 413 miles, moving from 25,779 to 26,192 miles. While this minimal usage implies that mechanical wear on the drivetrain, engine, and brake components is negligible, such low annual mileage often carries risks regarding the degradation of rubber components, seals, and fluid chemistry due to lack of use. Despite the clean digital record, a physical inspection must focus on components susceptible to long-term storage rather than mechanical wear. A buyer should scrutinise the structural integrity of the sills, floor pans, and wheel arches, as corrosion often persists regardless of mileage. The inspector should also check for perished suspension bushes, split rubber hoses, and seized brake calipers which can occur when a vehicle remains stationary for extended periods. Verifying the age of the tyres and the timing belt is equally vital, as these materials degrade independently independently of tread depth or mileage.
