2007 Vauxhall Corsa 1.2L Diesel · DA07 DCF

A near-pristine MOT record defines this nineteen year old Vauxhall Corsa, with the most recent test on 12 April 2024 returning a clean pass and no advisories or defects recorded. This follows two further passes in early 2022 and 2023, all without a single flagged item, suggesting the vehicle has maintained sound structural and mechanical integrity throughout its recent testing history. The only blemish is a fail recorded on 1 March 2022 that astonishingly carries no defect notes, which typically indicates a rectification was made before the following day's pass and is unlikely to reflect any underlying mechanical concern. Overall the trend is one of stable, consistent roadworthiness with no documented pattern of wear-related advisories on key safety or emissions components. Annual mileage accumulation for the Corsa averages around 6,306 miles per year based on the 119,811 recorded figure, sitting broadly in line with typical usage for a car of its age and likely reflecting moderate daily rather than long-distance motorway use. This gentle rate of accumulation is mechanically favourable, particularly for a nineteen year old vehicle, as it suggests lower cumulative stress on major drivetrain and suspension components than would be expected from a higher mileage example. There are no unusual gaps in the testing history that would imply extended periods of inactivity, meaning corrosion risk from prolonged standing is less of a concern than it might otherwise be on a vehicle of this vintage. For a prospective buyer, the absence of any recorded advisories over multiple tests means there are no specific component histories to target during inspection, yet this clean sheet should still be physically verified rather than taken at face value given the car's age. Particular attention on a test drive should be paid to the suspension, as nineteen year old rubber bushes, drop links and coil springs are common wear points on the Corsa platform even on low mileage examples; listen for clonking or knocking over speed humps and uneven road surfaces, and feel for vagueness or wandering from the steering. The brakes should be checked for judder under firm pedal application, which can indicate warped front discs, a known consumable issue on older Corsas, and for any binding or uneven pull to one side when releasing the brake pedal after slow forward motion. A thorough underbonnet inspection is also warranted, specifically looking for oil misting or seepage around the valve cover gasket and camshaft area, both known weak points on the Corsa engine family at this age. Examine the exhaust system for signs of corrosion at the rear silencer and joint areas, and check the inner and outer sills plus the subframe mounting points for any structural rust, as these are common MOT failure areas on vehicles approaching two decades of service despite a clean recent test record. Confirm that all warning lights extinguish promptly on ignition and that the clutch action remains firm without slipping under load, as clutch wear would not necessarily be flagged during an MOT but remains a relevant mechanical consideration at this mileage.
