2015 Ford Transit 2.2L Diesel · DA12 TAN

The 2015 Ford Transit presents a broadly stable maintenance picture, with the most recent MOT on 30 March 2026 at 125,166 miles passing cleanly aside from minor obligatory mirror damage on both sides. The record shows a gradual increase in advisories over recent years rather than any sudden deterioration, suggesting the vehicle has been kept in serviceable condition without major mechanical failure. No dangerous or major defects have been recorded, and the pass has been maintained consistently since 2022. The mileage progression aligns closely with typical commercial van use over its eleven-year life, averaging roughly 11,379 miles per year. The annual increments are steady, rising from 98,868 miles in April 2022 to 125,166 miles in March 2026, with no notable gaps or sudden spikes that would suggest long periods of disuse or unusually heavy loading. The MOT history is complete and consecutive, which supports the view that the van has been in regular operation rather than sitting idle. A buyer should pay particular attention to the front suspension and braking system during any in-person inspection. The offside front suspension arm rear bush was flagged as worn in both the March 2025 and March 2024 tests, indicating a component that may be approaching replacement. Both front McPherson strut top mountings showed corrosion in March 2024, and the offside rear inner sill was noted as corroded in the same test, suggesting the structural areas around the front suspension and rear inner sill deserve close scrutiny for any progression of corrosion. The braking system also warrants careful examination. Corroded front brake pipes were recorded in March 2024 and March 2023, with the offside front pipe additionally noted as covered in grease or other material in March 2025. While these have not yet resulted in failure, recurring corrosion advisories on brake lines point to an environment or age-related deterioration pattern that should be checked thoroughly. The power steering hose corrosion flagged in March 2024 is another item worth verifying, as hydraulic fluid leaks can develop progressively. Overall, the van appears mechanically sound for its age and use, but the suspension bushes, brake pipe condition, and structural corrosion around the front and rear inner sill areas should be the focus of any pre-purchase inspection.
