2014 KIA Sorento 2.2L Diesel · DA14 XBW

This Kia Sorento exhibits a remarkably consistent record of roadworthiness, characterized by a complete absence of defects or advisories across five consecutive annual inspections. The most recent pass on 7 April 2026 confirms a stable mechanical condition that deviates from the typical wear-and-tear patterns seen in vehicles of this vintage. Such a clean trajectory suggests that the structural and mechanical integrity of the chassis and drivetrain has remained intact without the usual gradual degradation of suspension components or braking systems. With a recorded mileage of 64,163 miles, the vehicle has averaged approximately 5,347 miles per year over its twelve-year lifespan. This low annual accumulation indicates the car has been used sparingly, which typically results in significantly less wear on the engine internals, gearbox, and drivetrain compared to a high-mileage equivalent. However, low usage can sometimes lead to the stagnation of rubber components or seals that rely on regular heat cycles and lubrication to remain supple. Given the absence of any flagged advisories regarding suspension bushes, coil springs, or brake pipe corrosion, a test drive should focus on confirming this lack of wear. Listen for any unexpected knocks or thumps when traversing uneven road surfaces, which would indicate suspension play not captured during the stationary MOT check. Ensure the steering is precise and devoid of any pull or vibration, verifying that the steering rack and linkages remain in the optimal condition suggested by the DVSA records. The lack of recorded brake disc corrosion or binding calipers suggests a well-maintained braking system. During the evaluation, check for a firm pedal response and an absence of judder under heavy braking to validate the recorded roadworthiness. While the MOT history is exemplary, the buyer should cross-reference these results with the stamped service book to ensure that oil changes and filter replacements have occurred at regular intervals, as MOT tests do not evaluate engine lubrication or internal mechanical health.
