2005 Mercedes-Benz E 1.8L Petrol · DA55 PWX

The 2005 Mercedes-Benz E presents as roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent test on 11 January 2024 at 101,187 miles returned a pass with no defects recorded, matching the clean result from 7 December 2021 at 100,899 miles. The vehicle shows no worsening faults or recurring advisories across the available history. The odometer reflects exceptionally low use for a 21-year-old car, averaging roughly 4,818 miles per year. Between the December 2021 test at 100,899 miles and the January 2024 test at 101,187 miles, the car covered only 288 miles in just over two years. Such a sparse record with a 25-month gap between tests suggests long periods of storage rather than daily driving, though the clean passes give no evidence of neglect in the tested intervals. A buyer should still commission an in-person inspection of structural integrity and corrosion, particularly to subframe and suspension mounting points, since the MOT record cannot confirm condition in the untested storage period. The near-dormant mileage raises the risk of perished rubber components such as suspension bushes, degraded brake hoses, and flat-spotted tyres from standing. Given the two clean passes and absence of advisories on brake discs, coil springs, or exhaust emissions, the mechanical outlook is favourable. Verify the car has not been laid up with binding calipers or contaminated fluid before relying on it for regular use.
