2015 Maserati Ghibli 3.0L Diesel · DE04 STU

The vehicle’s most recent MOT on 2026-03-19 at 98,718 miles showed a pass with no defects, but a prior test on 2026-03-18 at 98,712 miles recorded a failure without specific issues noted. This inconsistency suggests potential administrative error or a transient issue resolved between tests. Subsequent tests from 2023 to 2025 consistently passed with no defects, indicating a stable maintenance record over the past three years. The absence of structural, braking, or emissions-related failures in these tests implies the car has been maintained to meet legal standards, though the recent failure warrants scrutiny. The vehicle’s mileage of 98,718 miles at 11 years old aligns with an average of 8,974 miles annually, a typical figure for its age. The gap between the 2024-03-07 test (79,224 miles) and 2025-02-24 test (92,151 miles) reflects a 12,927-mile increase in 11 months, suggesting periods of higher usage. This pattern does not indicate excessive wear, as no major defects were recorded. The MOT history lacks recurring issues, with no advisories for suspension bushes, coil springs, or exhaust emissions, which is reassuring. However, the sparse data from 2023 to 2025 means long-term trends in consumables like tyres or brake discs cannot be confirmed. A buyer should inspect the suspension for worn bushes or coil springs, as these components often degrade over time without immediate MOT failures. The binding calipers or brake discs should be checked for uneven wear, particularly given the car’s age. Structural integrity remains unconfirmed by the record, so a visual inspection for corrosion or panel damage is advised. The recent failed MOT, though unexplained, underscores the need for a thorough pre-purchase check, especially to verify that no unresolved issues were addressed between tests. The vehicle appears roadworthy but requires in-person evaluation of mechanical and structural components.
