Brake‑related wear and corrosion dominate the MOT record, with successive advisories for front and rear discs showing pitting and scoring, and repeated notes of slight corrosion on the non‑safety‑related (NSR) and opposite‑side (OSR) brake hose ferrules. The most recent test on 9 March 2026 passed, but retained those two advisories, indicating that while the vehicle remains road‑legal, the braking system is approaching the point where component replacement will be required. A single failure in March 2026 for a non‑functional windscreen washer is isolated and has not recurred, suggesting a one‑off issue that was likely remedied before the subsequent pass. At 59,270 mi for a 2013 model the average annual accumulation is roughly 4,600 mi, well below the typical UK usage for a sports car of this age. The low mileage reduces overall wear on drivetrain and engine internals, yet the MOT history shows that even with modest use the high‑performance braking system has accumulated sufficient heat cycles to produce disc surface degradation. The relatively sparse mileage also means that any corrosion noted—particularly on the brake hose ferrules and rear anti‑roll bar—has likely arisen from environmental exposure rather than high‑stress operation, so the vehicle may have spent periods of limited use. Prospective buyers should inspect the brake discs for visible scoring, uneven wear, or thin spots, and verify disc thickness against the manufacturer’s minimum specification. During a road test, listen for a high‑pitched squeal or feel for pedal pulsation that can signal warped discs, and check that pedal travel feels firm without excessive sponginess, which could betray hose corrosion or internal fluid degradation. A visual examination of the brake hoses, especially at the ferrules, should reveal any surface rust or cracking; any sign of fraying or loss of flexibility warrants immediate replacement. The rear anti‑roll bar’s corrosion advisory calls for a close visual check for rust penetration that could compromise structural integrity; any flaking or pitting should be assessed by a qualified technician. Although tyre wear advisories date back to 2020, the current tyre condition must still be verified—look for tread depth approaching the legal limit, especially on the edges, and feel for any sidewall bulges or vibration at speed. Finally, confirm that the windscreen washer system now operates reliably, as a functional washer is essential for visibility in adverse weather. Addressing these specific items will give a clear picture of the car’s immediate roadworthiness and the likely timing of forthcoming maintenance.
