2011 Vauxhall Zafira 1.8L Petrol · DL60 LND

The 2011 Vauxhall Zafira’s roadworthiness status is uncertain due to a lack of recent MOT data. The most recent test, conducted on 2022-02-07 at 115,912 miles, resulted in a pass with no defects recorded. However, the vehicle has not undergone an MOT since this date, leaving a four-year gap that raises concerns about unmonitored mechanical degradation. The 2022-01-28 failure at 115,908 miles and the 2020-12-08 failure at 103,080 miles, both without recorded defects, suggest inconsistent testing or unresolved issues. While no critical faults are documented, the absence of recent evaluations limits confidence in the vehicle’s current condition. The vehicle’s mileage of 115,912 miles over 15 years equates to approximately 7,727 miles annually, aligning with typical usage for its age. However, the MOT records reveal irregular intervals between tests, with a 12-day gap between the 2020-12-08 pass and fail, and a 20-day gap between the 2022-01-28 fail and 2022-02-07 pass. These short intervals, combined with no defects noted in passes, imply either minimal mechanical issues or potential procedural inconsistencies. The sparse data does not indicate significant wear trends, but the lack of recent assessments means critical components like suspension, brakes, or exhaust systems may have deteriorated unnoticed. A buyer should prioritize inspecting the suspension system for worn bushes or coil springs, as these are common wear points in older vehicles. The absence of brake-related defects in MOT records does not preclude the need for a detailed brake check, including caliper binding and disc thickness. Structural corrosion, particularly in the underbody or chassis, warrants scrutiny given the vehicle’s age. Additionally, the failed MOTs, though unexplained, highlight the importance of verifying service history and conducting a pre-purchase inspection to assess hidden faults not captured in the DVSA records.
