2015 Vauxhall Corsa 1.4L Petrol · DP65 WTC

The most recent MOT test on 8 December 2025 resulted in a pass with no defects recorded. Looking back through the vehicle history, the maintenance trend appears stable and commendable. While there were minor advisories regarding steering components and tyre condition in previous years, the overall record indicates a vehicle that has been consistently maintained to a roadworthy standard without any major structural or mechanical failures. The recorded mileage of 15,767 miles is exceptionally low for an eleven year old vehicle, averaging approximately 1,433 miles per year. While this suggests minimal wear on the engine, gearbox, and internal drivetrain components, such low usage often indicates long periods of standing. This usage profile shifts the mechanical risk from typical wear-and-tear to degradation caused by inactivity, which can specifically affect rubber components and fluid integrity. Attention should be paid to the previous advisories regarding the track rod end ball joint dust covers and tyre perishing. Although the latest test was clean, you should inspect the steering rack boots and track rod ends for any fresh splits or grease leakage. During the test drive, listen for any clicking or clunking sounds when turning the steering wheel at low speeds, as compromised dust covers can allow grit to enter the joint, leading to premature failure of the ball joint. Given the vehicle's age and low mileage, a rigorous physical inspection is essential. Check all tyre sidewalls for fine cracking or perishing, as tyres often expire due to age before the tread wears down. Inspect the brake discs for heavy surface corrosion or pitting, and ensure the calipers are not binding, which can occur when a car sits idle. Finally, verify the service history to ensure oil and other essential fluids have been changed based on calendar intervals rather than mileage, and test the 12V battery health to ensure it has not been degraded by infrequent charging cycles.
