2004 Vauxhall Combo 1.7L Diesel · DS04 SJY

The current roadworthiness status of this vehicle is uncertain due to a significant gap in recent testing. The most recent entry on 29 June 2023 resulted in a failure at 154,191 miles, though the record curiously lists no specific defects. This lack of detail, combined with the fact that the vehicle has not seen a recorded test in over three years relative to the current date of July 2026, suggests a period of dormancy or neglect. The mileage pattern is consistent with the age of a 2004 model, averaging roughly 7,009 miles per year. Between the May 2022 test at 146,890 miles and the June 2023 failure at 154,191 miles, the vehicle covered 7,301 miles. This indicates regular use during that period, but the complete absence of data since mid-2023 is a red flag for any buyer. A physical inspection must prioritise structural integrity and corrosion, as older Vauxhall Combos are prone to rust in the sills and chassis. Because the vehicle has likely sat idle for several years, the buyer should check for seized brake calipers, perished tyre sidewalls, and degraded suspension bushes. The engine should be assessed for signs of fluid leaks or battery failure resulting from long-term standing. Special attention is required for the braking system and exhaust emissions. Since the 2023 test failed without a listed reason, there may be an underlying mechanical or electrical fault that was never rectified. A full service is recommended to address potentially degraded oils and filters before the vehicle returns to regular road use.
