2012 Skoda Octavia 2.0L Diesel · DU12 ADV

The vehicle’s most recent MOT on 2024-08-09 at 156,375 miles recorded a pass with no defects, indicating a stable maintenance trend over the past two years. Previous tests from 2023 and 2022 also showed no issues, suggesting consistent upkeep. The 2021-07-31 test, which failed but had no recorded defects, remains unexplained, though the subsequent pass in the same month implies any issues were resolved. No recurring mechanical or structural problems are evident in the documented history. The mileage progression aligns with average annual usage for a 14-year-old vehicle, averaging 11,170 miles per year. A notable gap between the 2021-07-31 test (138,082 miles) and the 2022-08-24 test (143,677 miles) suggests a period of reduced activity, potentially affecting component longevity. The absence of defects in the last three tests, despite the car’s age, indicates responsible maintenance, though the lack of detailed records for the 2021 failure limits deeper analysis. A buyer should inspect the suspension system for wear, particularly suspension bushes and coil springs, given the vehicle’s age. Brake components, including calipers and discs, warrant scrutiny for corrosion or uneven wear, as these are common in older models. Structural integrity should also be checked for rust, especially in areas prone to moisture exposure. While the MOT history shows no critical issues, physical inspection is essential to confirm the car’s condition beyond recorded data.
