2012 Vauxhall Meriva 1.2L Diesel · EA61 ACJ

The 2012 Vauxhall Meriva has demonstrated consistent roadworthiness over its last five annual MOT tests, with no defects recorded in the most recent 2023 assessment at 74,683 miles. All prior tests from 2019 to 2022 also showed passing results, indicating a stable maintenance trend. The absence of recorded faults suggests the vehicle has been well-kept, with no immediate mechanical or structural concerns flagged. However, the lack of advisories or minor defects in the history does not confirm proactive servicing beyond legal compliance. The vehicle’s mileage of 74,683 miles over 14 years equates to an average of 5,334 miles annually, significantly lower than typical usage. This pattern suggests either limited use or extended periods of inactivity, which can accelerate wear on components like seals, rubber bushings, and electrical systems. The MOT records show no gaps longer than 12 months, but the minimal mileage growth between tests—such as 63,515 to 66,854 miles between 2019 and 2020—raises questions about whether the vehicle was driven regularly enough to prevent degradation of non-rotating parts. While no specific mechanical faults are documented, a buyer should verify the condition of the suspension, particularly bushes and coil springs, which may show wear from infrequent use. Brake discs and calipers should be inspected for corrosion or binding, as low-mileage vehicles can develop issues from prolonged inactivity. Structural integrity and body rust, especially in areas prone to moisture, warrant scrutiny, as the MOT history does not include corrosion-related findings. A physical inspection is essential to confirm the absence of hidden deterioration not captured in the MOT records.
