2015 Volkswagen Golf R DSG 2.0L Other · ED04 MUL

The vehicle presents a high standard of roadworthiness with a remarkably stable maintenance history. The most recent MOT test conducted on 4 September 2025 at 86,911 miles resulted in a pass with no defects recorded. This consistent clean sheet across the last five tests suggests that the previous owners maintained the mechanical integrity of the car effectively, avoiding the recurring failures often seen in high-performance vehicles of this age. The mileage pattern is consistent with a typical eleven-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 7,900 miles per year. There is a notable gap in the records between December 2019 and July 2022, during which the car covered 14,808 miles. Since 2022, the usage has remained at a steady rate, adding roughly 6,000 to 7,000 miles annually. This regular usage interval indicates the vehicle has not suffered from long periods of standing, which helps prevent the degradation of rubber components, internal seals, and fluid-related corrosion within the braking system. While the MOT record is devoid of advisories, a buyer must still inspect specific high-wear areas common to the Golf R with a DSG gearbox. Given the 86,911-mile mark, a physical inspection of the suspension bushes and coil springs is necessary, as these often show signs of fatigue before failing an MOT test. The brake discs should be checked for thinness or uneven wear, as the MOT only tests for functional efficiency rather than component thickness. Furthermore, the DSG gearbox service history should be verified through service records, as the MOT does not assess the internal mechanical health of the transmission.
