2017 Toyota Verso 1.8L Petrol · EK17 FVT

The vehicle is currently roadworthy, but the maintenance trend shows a clear shift toward worsening mechanical wear. While the car maintained a clean record between 2025 and late 2025, the most recent test on 10 June 2026 at 132,170 miles introduced multiple defects. The appearance of play in front suspension arm ball joints and worn bushes on both sides indicates that the front end assembly is reaching the end of its service life and requires immediate attention. At 132,170 miles over nine years, this Verso has covered a high average of approximately 14,700 miles per year. The data shows a significant surge in usage recently, with the vehicle covering 12,042 miles between January and June 2026 and another 11,543 miles in the six months prior to that. This high-intensity mileage puts accelerated strain on consumable components and the braking system, which explains the sudden transition from clean MOT records to multiple mechanical failures. A buyer must prioritise a physical inspection of the front suspension to verify the extent of the play in the ball joints and bushes. The June 2026 test also flagged a worn offside rear tyre with edge wear, which often suggests an alignment issue or worn shock absorbers affecting the geometry. Given that the January 2026 test noted thin brake pads on both front wheels, the entire braking system should be checked for thickness and corrosion to ensure they have been replaced since that previous advisory.
