2016 KIA Sportage 1.7L Diesel · EX16 YKL

The 2016 KIA SPORTAGE presents a stable roadworthiness profile, with no defects recorded in its most recent MOT on 2026-03-20 at 67,169 miles. All prior tests from 2022 to 2026 also showed passing results, indicating consistent maintenance and no emerging mechanical issues. The vehicle’s annual MOT schedule aligns with standard usage patterns, and the absence of advisories or failures suggests the previous owner prioritized routine checks. No significant wear or structural concerns are flagged in the recorded history. The mileage progression shows a steady annual increase of approximately 6,700 miles, reflecting typical usage for a 10-year-old vehicle. Tests at 41,919 (2022) to 67,169 miles (2026) reveal no abrupt spikes or extended gaps, which might indicate periods of inactivity or excessive strain. The consistent 12-month intervals between MOTs further support a predictable usage cycle, with no evidence of neglect in critical systems like brakes, suspension, or emissions. While the MOT records show no faults, a physical inspection should focus on wear-prone components such as suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake discs, which can degrade over time without triggering immediate failures. The exhaust system and corrosion resistance—particularly in body seams and underbody panels—warrant scrutiny, as these areas often develop issues in older vehicles. Additionally, checking for fluid leaks and tyre tread depth would confirm the vehicle’s ongoing reliability, as even well-maintained cars can exhibit hidden deterioration.
