2006 Volvo XC90 2.4L Diesel · FE06 GVC

An exceptionally clean record of roadworthiness defines this vehicle, with a total absence of defects or advisories across multiple tests, including the most recent pass on 22 January 2026. This suggests a stable mechanical condition and a lack of chronic issues such as recurring suspension failure or structural corrosion that often plague older SUVs. The recorded mileage of 220,698 miles reflects a consistent usage pattern of approximately 11,035 miles per year over two decades. This level of regular use generally prevents the seizing of components often seen in low-mileage elderly vehicles, though it places significant cumulative stress on the drivetrain, engine internals, and cooling system. Given the lack of flagged defects in the official history, a physical inspection should focus on the high-wear components typical of the XC90 chassis at this mileage. During the test drive, listen for knocks or clunks from the suspension bushes and linkages when traversing uneven roads, and feel for any steering pull or vibration that could indicate worn wheel bearings or alignment issues. Close attention should be paid to the transmission and engine performance, checking for smooth gear transitions and the absence of oil misting around the engine block. While the MOT history shows no structural failures, a thorough check of the subframes for surface corrosion is advised to ensure long-term integrity, as these components bear the brunt of the vehicle's weight and mileage.
