2003 Honda Civic 1.6L Petrol · FG53 UUJ

The Honda Civic presents a broadly stable roadworthiness picture based on the most recent test. On 11 February 2023 the vehicle passed at 105,284 miles with no defects recorded, following a failed attempt on the same date showing no listed defects, which points to an administrative or presentation issue at the testing station rather than a mechanical fault. The earlier pass on 3 February 2022 at 100,111 miles also carried no advisories. Across this two-year window the maintenance trend is steady, with no recurring mechanical or structural concerns logged by DVSA. The recorded mileage sits low for a 2003 vehicle. Between February 2022 and February 2023 the odometer advanced only 5,173 miles, averaging roughly 4,578 miles per year across the car's life. Such low annual use over 23 years suggests extended periods of standing or light local running. The record shows a clean sweep with no consumable wear items or corrosion flagged, though sparse testing history limits insight into intermediate condition. A buyer should still commission a physical inspection of suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake discs given the age and likely static storage periods. Standing vehicles commonly develop perished rubber components and surface corrosion on structural members even when MOT tests return clear. The absence of advisories does not exempt the car from age-related degradation. Verify the V5C and test certificate for the 11 February 2023 duplicate entries to confirm road legality. Prior owners kept basic test compliance but the thin history offers little evidence of proactive upkeep beyond statutory minimums.
