2006 Toyota Avensis 2.2L Diesel · FG56 PYL

The 2006 Toyota Avensis presents a stable roadworthiness profile. The most recent test on 21 February 2024 at 164,116 miles returned a pass with no defects recorded, and the two prior tests on 16 February 2023 at 146,872 miles and 9 February 2022 at 138,313 miles also passed clean. The maintenance trend is steady with no advisories or failures across the three-year record, indicating the vehicle has met minimum statutory standards without escalating concerns. Annual mileage sits at a typical level for a 20-year-old car. Between February 2022 and February 2024 the odometer advanced 25,803 miles, an average of roughly 12,900 per year, above the lifetime mean of 8,206 but not extreme for this model. The supplied history shows no gaps beyond the standard twelve-month cycle and no sudden accumulation spikes, so the record is sparse but clean with no lapsed periods suggesting neglect or long storage. A buyer should still commission an independent inspection of suspension bushes, coil springs, and subframe corrosion given the vehicle's age and salt-exposure risk on UK roads. The MOT record flags none of these, yet testers often miss early-stage structural rust or worn trailing arm mounts without a ramp and strip check. Brake discs, calipers, and exhaust emissions warrant a live road test to confirm no binding or imbalance develops under load. The clean pass history implies previous owners kept basic upkeep current, but at 164,116 miles consumable items like timing belt intervals and gearbox oil remain outside MOT scope and must be verified by paperwork.
