2015 DAF XF 460 Diesel · FJ15 FHE

The maintenance trend for this 2015 DAF XF 460 remains stable, evidenced by a clean pass on the most recent MOT conducted on 2 March 2023 at 561,522 miles. The tester recorded zero defects during this assessment, mirroring the outcome of the prior test. This indicates the vehicle met minimum roadworthiness standards at that time, though the absence of advisories does not preclude the presence of latent wear typical of high-mileage commercial vehicles. The mileage accumulation is notably high for an 11-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 51,000 miles annually. Between the test on 23 February 2022 at 504,589 miles and the subsequent test on 2 March 2023 at 561,522 miles, the truck covered 56,933 miles in just over twelve months. Such intensive use accelerates the degradation of consumables, suspension bushes, and drivetrain components. A significant gap exists in the record, however, as the last MOT was over three years ago in March 2023, leaving the current condition unverified by official testing. Given the recorded mileage and the elapsed time since the last test, a pre-purchase inspection must focus on structural integrity and heavy-duty wear items. The chassis and outriggers require close examination for corrosion, particularly around mounting points and cross members where stress fractures can develop. Suspension components, including air bellows, shock absorbers, and trailing arm bushes, will likely exhibit deterioration from the sustained high mileage. Brake systems demand scrutiny for disc wear, binding calipers, and slack adjuster operation, while the drivetrain and gearbox should be assessed for undue play or fluid leaks.
