2008 Toyota Auris 2.0L Petrol · FL08 DNN

The 2008 Toyota Auris demonstrates a historically stable maintenance trend, having passed its last three consecutive MOT tests without a single defect recorded. The most recent examination on 1 May 2024 at 91,067 miles yielded zero advisories or failures, indicating sound mechanical and structural condition at that time. Over two years have now elapsed since that assessment, meaning the vehicle currently lacks a valid MOT certificate and its present roadworthiness remains unverified. The recorded mileage pattern confirms exceptionally light use. Between the May 2022 test at 87,511 miles and the May 2024 test at 91,067 miles, the Auris covered just 3,556 miles over two years. This equates to an annual average of roughly 1,778 miles. Such low mileage typically points to short, localized journeys rather than sustained motorway driving, which can lead to specific issues like brake disc corrosion, battery drain, and exhaust system moisture buildup despite the clean defect record. Given the vehicle's age and low-mileage profile, a pre-purchase inspection must focus on perishable components rather than high-mileage wear. A buyer should closely examine the condition of the tyres for sidewall cracking and date codes, as tread depth may remain legal while the rubber perishes. Brake discs and calipers require scrutiny for surface corrosion that can cause binding or uneven pad wear after prolonged standing. Suspension bushes and exhaust mounts should also be checked for deterioration, as lack of regular use often degrades rubber faster than mileage alone would suggest.
