2009 Vauxhall Astra 2.0L Petrol · FL09 CNA

The 2009 Vauxhall Astra presents a stable and improving maintenance trend, culminating in a completely clean pass on 18 November 2025 at 67,571 miles. The tester recorded zero defects during this most recent assessment, mirroring the faultless results of the preceding four annual tests. This consistent absence of advisories or failures indicates a vehicle that has received diligent upkeep, with no emerging mechanical or structural deterioration flagged by the DVSA over the last five years. The recorded mileage demonstrates exceptionally light usage for a vehicle of this age, averaging roughly 3,975 miles per year. Between the November 2021 test at 60,726 miles and the November 2025 test at 67,571 miles, the odometer advanced by just 6,845 miles over four years. The annual increments remain remarkably steady, ranging from 1,776 miles to 2,326 miles per year, with no sudden spikes or anomalous gaps in the chronology. Such low mileage typically reduces wear on drivetrain components and consumables, though prolonged stationary periods can introduce their own issues. Despite the flawless MOT record, a buyer must physically inspect the vehicle to verify its condition beyond the tester's checkpoints. Low-mileage vehicles frequently suffer from deteriorated rubber components, such as suspension bushes and tyre sidewalls, due to age-related cracking rather than wear. You should closely examine the brake discs and calipers for surface corrosion, a common issue when a car covers short distances and the friction material fails to wipe the rust from the disc face. Assess the exhaust system for moisture-induced corrosion and check the underbody for structural rust, as the Astra's age remains a critical factor regardless of the low mileage.
