2017 Ford Transit 2.0L Diesel · FL17 VMT

The 2017 Ford Transit presents a stable roadworthiness profile. The most recent test on 15 July 2025 at 113,383 miles returned a pass with no defects recorded, continuing a clean sequence of examinations. Across the available history the vehicle shows no recurring advisories or mechanical faults, indicating consistent test outcomes rather than a worsening or deteriorating condition. Recorded mileage stands at 113,383 miles against an approximate nine-year age, equating to roughly 12,600 miles per year which is high for a light commercial vehicle of this period. The test on 29 July 2024 at 105,418 miles and the 22 May 2023 pass at 85,473 miles reveal a steady annual accumulation of around 18,000 to 20,000 miles in those intervals. A minor anomaly appears in May 2023 when the tester failed the vehicle on 19 May at 85,426 miles yet recorded no defects, with a subsequent pass three days later at 85,473 miles; this suggests an administrative or procedural rejection rather than a genuine fault. Given the absence of flagged wear in suspension bushes, brake discs, coil springs, or structural corrosion, the MOT record alone implies the previous keeper maintained basic statutory standards. A buyer should still commission a physical inspection of underside structures and brake calipers, as nine years of high-mileage use can conceal binding calipers or tired suspension components not captured in a clean test sheet. The sparse but unbroken pass history offers reasonable assurance of present roadworthiness, though the 2023 double entry warrants a check of the V5C and any associated rectification paperwork to confirm no suppressed defect. Pre-purchase examination of exhaust emissions and drivetrain noise remains prudent given the mileage.
