2008 Renault Megane 1.6L Petrol · FL57 FNE

The Renault Megane presents as roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent test on 1 April 2026 at 52,963 miles passed with no defects recorded, continuing an unbroken run of clean MOT results since at least 2022. The vehicle shows no worsening faults, advisories, or recurring mechanical concerns across the five-year record supplied. Recorded mileage sits at 52,963 against an 18-year-old car, equating to roughly 2,942 miles per year. The tests confirm light use: 44,437 miles on 4 April 2022, rising to 46,395 by 31 March 2023, 49,131 on 2 April 2024, 50,924 on 31 March 2025, and 52,963 on 1 April 2026. Annual accumulation stayed between 1,800 and 2,500 miles with no gaps or sudden jumps. Such low, consistent mileage implies the car spent long periods stationary between short journeys, a pattern that often masks perished rubber components and corrosion rather than heavy drivetrain wear. The clean MOT history gives no tester-flagged faults on suspension bushes, coil springs, brake discs, calipers, or structural integrity. A buyer should still inspect for age-related issues the annual test may not capture on a lightly used car. Check subframe and sills for corrosion, verify tyre sidewall cracking from standing, and confirm brake calipers are not seizing after low-mileage idle periods. Given the sparse but fault-free record, previous owners appear to have kept basic statutory testing current without neglect. The absence of advisories across four consecutive tests suggests competent upkeep, though in-person inspection of consumables and hidden rust remains prudent before purchase.
