2005 Lexus RX300 3.0L Petrol · FM05 UCC

The 2005 Lexus RX300 presents a stable roadworthiness trend with a clean pass at its most recent test on 2 April 2024 at 124,759 miles, where the tester logged no defects. Prior examinations on 28 March 2023 at 115,214 miles and 28 January 2022 at 112,042 miles also returned passes with no advisories. The maintenance record shows no worsening faults, recurring defects, or escalating mechanical concerns across the three-year window. Annual mileage sits well below typical expectations for a 21-year-old vehicle. The records show 112,042 miles in January 2022, rising to 115,214 by March 2023 and 124,759 by April 2024. That equates to roughly 3,172 miles between the first two tests and 9,545 over the following thirteen months, averaging near 5,941 miles per year overall. The sparse three-entry history with zero advisories suggests light use and a previous keeper who kept the SUV idle for long periods rather than covering high distances. A buyer should still commission an in-person inspection of structural integrity and underbody corrosion, as the MOT record does not confirm absence of rust on a vehicle of this age. Suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake discs warrant physical checks for age-related degradation that a no-defect test may not capture on a briefly driven example. Given the low mileage and clean history, the RX300 appears mechanically sound on paper. Verify service receipts and inspect for fluid leaks around the drivetrain before purchase, since standing time can mask perished seals not flagged in the MOT.
