2006 Volvo S60 2.5L Petrol · FP06 HWK

The Volvo S60 presents as roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent test on 19 March 2026 at 121,870 miles returned a pass with no defects recorded, and the prior annual tests from 2023 through 2025 also show clean passes. The single failure logged on 5 March 2025 at 121,868 miles carries no recorded defects, indicating an administrative or presentation issue at the test centre rather than a mechanical fault, with the vehicle passing again the same day. Annual mileage sits at roughly 6,094 miles per year against the car's 2006 build, a typical figure for a 20-year-old saloon. The records show almost no accumulation: 120,594 miles in March 2023, 121,419 in March 2024, and 121,868 by March 2025. Only 452 miles were covered across those two years, then just 2 miles to the March 2026 test. Such low use suggests long periods of standing, which commonly accelerates perishable component degradation despite the clean MOT sheets. A buyer should still commission an in-person inspection of suspension bushes, coil springs, and subframe mounting points, as prolonged inactivity promotes corrosion and rubber shrinkage not always visible during a static MOT. Brake discs and calipers warrant checking for seizure or surface pitting from disuse. The exhaust and emissions system passed clean, but standing moisture can quietly rot mild steel sections behind heat shields. The absence of advisories across five years is unusual for a vehicle of this age and mileage. Previous keepers likely presented the car only for statutory testing with minimal intervening use. Verify the true condition of structural integrity and consumables like tyres and wiper blades before purchase, since the record alone does not evidence active upkeep beyond compliance.
