2009 Citroen Berlingo 1.6L Diesel · FP09 XJY

The Citroen Berlingo passed its most recent MOT on 1 March 2024 at 163,345 miles with no defects recorded, indicating the vehicle currently holds a roadworthy status. The maintenance trend appears stable on paper, though the test one day earlier on 29 February 2024 produced a failure at the identical mileage with no defects listed, a clerical or administrative anomaly rather than a mechanical fault. Recorded mileage rose from 132,447 at the July 2021 test to 150,591 by February 2023, then to 163,345 by February 2024. That equates to roughly 9,000 miles per year, consistent with typical use for a 17-year-old van. A gap exists between July 2021 and February 2023 where no intermediate record is supplied, but the clean pass results across all submitted entries show no advisories on tyres, brakes, suspension, or corrosion. The absence of flagged defects means no recurring wear pattern emerges from the official data. A buyer should still commission a physical inspection of structural integrity and underbody corrosion given the vehicle's age and 163,345 miles. Suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake discs warrant hands-on checks despite the clean MOT trail. The same-day fail and pass at 163,345 miles suggests administrative processing rather than owner neglect. Previous keepers appear to have maintained basic test compliance, though the sparse record limits insight into consumable replacement habits between tests.
