2025 KIA Niro 3 EV Electric · G2 PRM

As the vehicle is a 2025 model and the current date is September 2026, it has not yet reached the three-year threshold required for its first mandatory UK MOT test. Therefore, there is no official DVSA MOT history available to review. In the absence of these records, it is impossible to establish a historical maintenance trend or evaluate the vehicle's long-term mechanical stability through official testing outcomes. The vehicle's roadworthiness must be assessed entirely through a physical inspection and a thorough review of its service documentation and manufacturer warranty status. There is currently insufficient mileage data to determine the vehicle's annual usage rate or to identify any significant gaps in operation. Without a comparative mileage history, one cannot ascertain whether the car has been driven extensively or has been subject to long periods of inactivity. For an electric vehicle, this is a critical consideration, as very low mileage can sometimes indicate infrequent use which may affect the health of the 12V auxiliary battery or lead to tyre flat-spotting. Conversely, high mileage in a short timeframe would suggest heavy usage that warrants a closer look at the suspension and drivetrain components. Since the vehicle is relatively new and lacks a documented defect history, the inspection should focus on age-related degradation and preventative checks. Examine the tyres closely for any signs of sidewall perishing or cracking, which can occur if the vehicle has been stationary for long periods or stored in harsh environments. Because electric vehicles rely heavily on regenerative braking, the mechanical braking system may see less frequent use than a conventional internal combustion engine vehicle; therefore, check the brake discs for excessive corrosion or pitting and ensure the calipers are not binding. A test drive should be used to listen for any unusual noises from the suspension bushes or coil springs that might suggest premature wear or assembly issues. Finally, it is imperative to verify that the vehicle has a complete and up-to-date service history, including any manufacturer-mandated software updates or battery health checks. Check the condition of the 12V auxiliary battery and ensure the charging equipment is in good working order. Given the lack of MOT data, the buyer must rely on the physical integrity of the vehicle, checking for any signs of fluid leaks from the thermal management systems or unexpected electrical faults during operation. Ensuring the vehicle has been maintained according to the manufacturer's calendar-based service intervals is the best way to mitigate risks associated with a lack of historical MOT testing.
