1998 Bentley Arnage 4.4L Petrol · G3 JWN

The most recent MOT record shows a clean pass in January 2024 at 80,062 miles, but you must note that this certificate is now over two years out of date. The vehicle has not been tested since that date, so you cannot rely on that pass for current roadworthiness. The mileage is exceptionally low for a 28-year-old car, averaging under 3,000 miles per year. While this suggests the engine and drivetrain have seen light use, such low activity often causes more harm than hard use. Components like rubber seals, hoses, and fluids degrade over time regardless of distance driven, and long periods of standing can lead to seized brakes or corrosion. The mechanical trend appears stable with one notable maintenance event. In January 2023, the tester flagged all four tyres as worn close to the legal limit and worn on the edges. The clean pass in 2024 implies these tyres were replaced, correcting a significant safety risk. However, the fact that all four wore down simultaneously suggests the vehicle may have been sitting with incorrect tyre pressures or tracking issues during a period of storage. A recurring limitation in the history is the presence of underbody shields that limited inspection in 2020 and 2021.
