2018 Toyota Unknown 4.0L Petrol · G8 JSE

The vehicle demonstrates a consistent roadworthiness record with no defects or advisories across five consecutive MOT tests, most recently passing on 1 April 2026 at 64,601 miles. This pattern suggests stable maintenance and no recurring mechanical issues requiring attention. The absence of advisories or failings implies that major components—such as suspension bushes, coil springs, binding calipers, brake discs, and structural integrity—have not been compromised beyond standard wear. However, the most recent test was conducted just three months ago, meaning the vehicle has not yet reached the 12-month MOT renewal threshold. While this is technically compliant, buyers should verify whether the current owner has adhered to any recommended servicing intervals beyond MOT requirements, particularly for fluid changes and wear items not covered by the test. The mileage progression indicates typical usage for a vehicle of this age, averaging around 8,075 miles annually. There are no abrupt jumps or prolonged gaps in mileage that would suggest neglect or excessive wear. The most notable interval is between the 2022 and 2023 tests, where mileage increased by 7,140 miles in just over a year, yet the vehicle still passed without failings. This rate does not indicate abnormal stress on high-wear components, though buyers should still scrutinise consumables like tyres, wiper blades, and brake pads, as these are not formally assessed in the MOT. The lack of advisories in prior tests also rules out persistent issues with exhaust emissions or corrosion in critical areas. Given the clean MOT history, the primary focus for an in-person inspection should centre on tyres, brakes, and suspension alignment . While the MOT does not test tread depth beyond the legal minimum, uneven wear could signal alignment or suspension issues. The absence of advisories does not guarantee there are no hidden problems, so buyers should check for soft or cracked suspension bushes, corroded wheel bearings, or excessive play in the steering rack . Brake discs and pads should be inspected for uneven wear or glazing, as the MOT only flags severe defects. Additionally, examine the underbody for corrosion around wheel arches, sills, and subframe mounts , particularly if the vehicle has seen winter use or off-road conditions. The engine bay should be checked for fluid leaks, as these are not detectable during the MOT. Finally, verify that all advisories from previous tests —if any—have been addressed, though none appear in this record.
